Position Overview
Mission Bridge Partners is partnering with an established federal technology integrator to identify an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise cloud modernization program for a federal customer.
This is a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity supporting the design, deployment, and ongoing operation of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP environments.
The Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for cloud networking and security infrastructure, including Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco networking technologies, VPNs, routing, security groups, and virtual cloud networks. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience with Terraform, cloud networking, network security, and troubleshooting complex enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate combines a strong traditional network engineering background with hands-on experience implementing networking and security infrastructure within modern cloud environments.

What You'll Be Doing
- Design, implement, configure, and support networking infrastructure across cloud environments, including Azure, OCI, GCP, and AWS
- Deploy and manage cloud networking components including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, security groups, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network access controls
- Use Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure, including AWS security groups
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco devices, VPN concentrators, IPsec tunnels, route maps, NACLs, and related network security technologies
- Support networking requirements for AWS EKS clusters
- Implement cloud network security controls and follow established security and compliance requirements
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, firewall, VPN, DNS, and performance issues
- Monitor network performance, availability, utilization, capacity, and overall system health
- Perform network maintenance, upgrades, patching, hot fixes, and security configuration updates
- Partner with network administrators, cloud engineers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders to resolve infrastructure issues
- Provide Level 2/3 engineering support for cloud and network-related incidents
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of related experience
- Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting networking within enterprise cloud environments
- Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing AWS Security Groups using Terraform
- Experience supporting AWS EKS clusters
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience with Cisco networking and security technologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, OSPF, NAT, SSL/TLS, and IPsec
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, IPS, route maps, NACLs, VPNs, routers, and load balancers
- Experience with VPC/VNet architecture, subnetting, routing, and cloud network security
- Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and virtual networking concepts
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) within cloud environments
- Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
- Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or PCNSE certification
- Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud certifications
- Experience supporting highly regulated or federal government cloud environments
- Experience designing and operating complex multi-cloud network architectures
- Experience with cloud network monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization
